The development of The Parker at Maitland Station strategically coincided with the City of Maitland’s plan to reinvigorate its downtown core. As such, The Parker became an iconic cornerstone as the city progressed in its transformation, welcoming residents and visitors to the exciting community. The Parker thoughtfully leverages its proximity to the commuter rail station next door, providing crucial housing that integrates with the downtown core, promoting a car-optional lifestyle for residents.
The Parker’s unique site shape necessitated a singular, long building facade facing the busy roadway, an innovative solution to mitigate the structure’s scale. Through meticulous detailing of the building’s massing, color, and materials, the perceived scale of the large structure was successfully reduced, ensuring a more welcoming and relatable environment for pedestrians.
